A new Target might be coming to South Gilbert

A proposed Target shopping center may be coming to the southeast corner of Higley and Ocotillo Roads in Gilbert, and a neighborhood meeting has been scheduled to discuss it.

• Request: Rezone the property (Maricopa County Parcel 304-69-027Z) from Shopping Center (SC) to General Commercial (GC) with a Planned Area Development (PAD) overlay.

• Purpose: Allow for the development of a Target shopping center and other related commercial/retail uses.

• Modifications proposed:

  1. Reduce the corner landscaping setback to allow a driveway at Higley & Ocotillo.

  2. Allow driveways and parking to be closer to the property line on the south side.
