Plans Submitted for The Rush Funplex Near Ellsworth and Warner in Southeast Mesa

by KEVIN MCKIERNAN

Families in southeast Mesa may soon have a brand-new place to bowl, race go-karts, celebrate birthdays, and escape the Arizona heat.

Plans have officially been submitted to the City of Mesa for The Rush Funplex, a proposed indoor entertainment venue located on Ellsworth Road, just south of Warner Road, west of Starbucks and Chick-fil-A.

According to the project narrative, the entertainment center would include a wide variety of attractions designed for all ages, including:

  • Bowling

  • Indoor go-karts

  • Arcade games

  • Bumper cars

  • Climbing walls

  • Foam pit

  • Billiards

  • Private party rooms

  • Restaurant and food service areas

  • Additional indoor recreational attractions

If approved, the development would provide another major family entertainment destination for the rapidly growing southeast Mesa and East Valley communities.

For many Arizona families, especially during the summer months, an indoor, air-conditioned venue with multiple activities could become a popular destination for birthday parties, weekend outings, and family gatherings.

It's important to note that this project is still in the early stages. The application is currently a pre-submittal, meaning it is the first step in what is typically a lengthy planning and review process. No approvals have been granted, and project details could change as it moves through the City's review process.

The City of Mesa is also seeking public input on the proposal. Residents with questions or feedback can submit comments through Tuesday, June 30, by emailing the City's Planning Division. Be sure to include the project description and the applicable PRS case number in the subject line so your comments are routed correctly.

As one of the fastest-growing areas in the East Valley, the Ellsworth and Warner corridor continues to attract new retail, restaurants, and entertainment projects. We'll continue following The Rush Funplex as it moves through the approval process and provide updates as additional information becomes available.
