Hyper Kidz Indoor Playground Is Coming to Gilbert

by KEVIN MCKIERNAN

A new indoor playground is preparing to open in Gilbert, giving East Valley families another place where children can stay active and escape the Arizona heat.

Hyper Kidz is coming to the southwest corner of Gilbert and Guadalupe roads, taking over the former Hole 9 Yards location at 868 N. Gilbert Road, Suite 105.

The indoor playground is designed for children ages 0–13 and features separate areas created for different ages and stages of development.

The Mini Zone is designed for babies and toddlers ages 0–2, with padded equipment positioned low to the ground. The Kid Zone, intended for children ages 2–7, includes slides, a ball pit, motorized rides, a balloon house, building blocks and a giant light-up wall.

Older and more adventurous children can explore the Big Kid Zone, featuring a large four-story play structure filled with tube slides, spiral slides, obstacles, ramps, ball pits and more than 20 interactive activities.

Other Hyper Kidz locations also feature attractions such as an interactive LED dance floor, giant pin screens and colorful multi-level play structures. The company focuses on active and social play, so families should not expect to find traditional arcade games, video games or coin-operated machines.

In addition to daily indoor play, Hyper Kidz offers birthday-party packages, private parties, field trips and group events. Its open layout is designed to give parents a better view of the play areas while children explore.

The large building was previously home to Hole 9 Yards, an indoor cornhole venue and sports bar that opened in the former Goodwill space.

The Gilbert location is currently listed as “opening soon,” but an official opening date and admission pricing have not yet been announced.

With separate areas for babies, toddlers and older children, Hyper Kidz could become a popular year-round destination for Gilbert families—especially during the hottest months of the year
