Desert Birdie Indoor Golf Club Coming to South Gilbert

by KEVIN MCKIERNAN

A new indoor golf experience is joining the growing lineup of businesses planned for the northwest corner of Power Road and Chandler Heights Road.

Desert Birdie Golf Club will open alongside the new Sal’s Pizza and Gilbert Butchery locations, giving South Gilbert and nearby Queen Creek residents another entertainment option close to home.

The indoor golf club is planned for 18318 E. Chandler Heights Road and is currently targeting a Fall 2026 opening.

A Modern Indoor Golf Experience

Desert Birdie will combine advanced golf simulator technology with the atmosphere of a modern and relaxed clubhouse.

The approximately year-round golf experience will feature four TrackMan simulator bays, with each bay accommodating groups of up to four players. Golfers will be able to practice their swings, analyze detailed performance data or play complete rounds on more than 530 virtual golf courses.

Courses available through the simulators are expected to include famous destinations such as Pebble Beach and St Andrews, allowing East Valley golfers to experience some of the world’s most recognizable courses without leaving Arizona.

More Than Just Golf Simulators

Desert Birdie is being designed for both serious golfers and people simply looking for a fun night out.

Planned offerings include:

  • Public hourly simulator rentals

  • Golf memberships

  • Weekly leagues and challenges

  • Professional golf lessons

  • Advanced swing analysis

  • Member events and competitions

  • Private parties and group events

  • A beer and wine bar

The facility will also feature PuttView technology, which provides interactive visual feedback and green mapping to help golfers improve their putting and better understand how a putt will break.

Players will be able to use the space for casual rounds with friends, focused practice sessions or professional instruction. TrackMan users will also be able to sync their performance and progress with the TrackMan mobile app.

Golf Without the Arizona Heat

Indoor golf concepts have continued to grow in popularity because they allow golfers to practice and play regardless of the temperature, weather or time of year.

That could make Desert Birdie especially appealing during the East Valley’s hottest summer months, when playing a traditional outdoor round can be difficult.

The club says its goal is to create a welcoming environment for everyone from beginners learning the game to experienced scratch golfers looking for advanced training technology.

A Growing Corner in South Gilbert

The arrival of Desert Birdie adds another locally focused concept to the development at Power Road and Chandler Heights Road.

With Sal’s Pizza, Gilbert Butchery and now an indoor golf club planned for the property, the corner is shaping up to become a new neighborhood destination where residents can eat, shop and enjoy entertainment without traveling far from South Gilbert or Queen Creek.

An exact opening date and operating hours have not yet been announced, but Desert Birdie is currently collecting information from residents interested in memberships, leagues, lessons and future opening updates.
