Sal’s Pizza to Open Second Location at Power & Chandler Heights in Gilbert

by KEVIN MCKIERNAN

Gilbert’s local dining scene is getting another welcome addition. Sal’s Pizza is officially expanding with plans to open its second East Valley location at the northwest corner of Power Road and Chandler Heights Road, right on the Gilbert / Queen Creek border.

The new Sal’s will be part of a brand-new retail development currently under construction, bringing fresh momentum to an improving intersection that continues to attract new investment and local interest.

New Retail Development Details

The retail project is being constructed by Overton Builders, a respected Arizona-based builder known for delivering high-quality commercial developments throughout the Valley. Leasing for the project is being handled by Tom Wolfwith the West USA Commercial Division, highlighting strong confidence in the location and tenant mix.

As build-out continues, the center is expected to attract additional neighborhood-serving retail and restaurant concepts.

A Strong Fit for the Area

Power and Chandler Heights sits at a key gateway between Gilbert and Queen Creek, surrounded by established neighborhoods and ongoing residential growth. Adding Sal’s to this corner provides nearby residents with a familiar, locally owned dining option without having to travel north into central Gilbert.

More importantly, this opening represents a positive step toward bringing quality mom-and-pop restaurants to this part of the East Valley. Locally owned concepts like Sal’s help create character, support small business owners, and give the area a more authentic neighborhood feel.

What to Expect from Sal’s

While an official opening date has not yet been announced, guests can expect the same offerings that have made Sal’s a local favorite, including:

  • New York-style pizza by the slice or whole pie

  • Classic Italian comfort food

  • A casual, family-friendly atmosphere

  • Convenient dine-in and takeout options

Additional details will be shared as construction and tenant improvements move forward.

Another Positive Sign for South Gilbert

Between new retail development and the arrival of well-loved local restaurants, this stretch of Power and Chandler Heights continues to improve and evolve. Sal’s second location is a strong example of how thoughtful development can elevate an area while supporting independent, community-focused businesses.
