Canadian Entrepreneur Invests Big Near Downtown Gilbert
A new international investor has officially entered the local real estate scene near Downtown Gilbert—and it’s an exciting one to watch.
A Canadian business owner, who operates a successful millwright service company in Canada, recently purchased the older commercial building just south of Guadalupe Road and south of Wells Fargo on Gilbert Road for $3,325,000. The transaction was represented on the commercial side by Ruskin Lines.
The property includes a 6,400-square-foot building sitting on just under 1.5 acres, giving the new owner plenty of flexibility for creative redevelopment.
Early Vision: Hot Dogs, Offices & Maybe Mini Golf
While formal plans haven’t been submitted yet, the new owner already has an early concept in mind:
-
A Hot Dog Lounge on the south side of the building
-
Retaining the north portion for an office tenant
-
Possible future addition of a miniature golf course in the rear of the property, where there’s currently open dirt
It’s still early in the process, but the mix of food, office space, and potential entertainment could bring a fun new dynamic to this stretch of Gilbert Road.
Why Gilbert?
This investment isn’t random.
The Canadian owner already has roots in the area and owns a vacation home just minutes from the newly acquired property—making this both a business move and a personal connection to the community.
With Downtown Gilbert continuing to attract unique concepts and outside investment, this purchase adds another layer to the area’s growing momentum.
No official tenant announcements or construction timelines yet—but as always, we’ll keep you updated as plans take shape and more details become available.
